The Iraqi Kurdish President has asked the Parliament to vote for independence from the rest of Iraq. This is just a further example of divide in the nation, with the radical Sunni group ISIS already fighting the U.S. installed official Iraqi Shia government.
The Kurdish northern portion of Iraq has long governed itself; however it has never taken such drastic steps to completely break off from the rest of the nation. This threatens a complete divide for Iraq with ISIS already taking over mass portions of the nation. At this time it seems the possibility of three Iraqs is higher than ever.
